| I am fond of Amazon. I don't buy things there frequently because I try to avoid using credit cards, but I sometimes get books and music from them.
There's a bargain bookstore near me that I go into occasionally. Today, I went in and was looking through the bargain hardbacks, when I spotted a minor gem - Local Wonders (Seasons in the Bohemian Alps) by Ted Kooser. It's got short vignettes and other ramblings about each of the four seasons. The dust jacket has a picture of an old pickup truck. The author lives in Nebraska.
For some reason, I am fascinated by the state of Nebraska. It's huge. Has lots of very small towns, some with great names. The Lewis and Clark expedition went through part of it. And some of it is in the middle of NOWHERE (Arthur County, Nebraska, e.g., has an entire population of 200 people), a phenomenon that is increasingly attractive to me.
I also spent time listening to Pandora radio today. Www.pandora.com for those wanting to know more. It plays music based upon your likes, and finds similar artists. I found out there's a radio called Livio Radio that streams Pandora from a wireless connection to any room in your house, and can also be connected to a stereo. It will also pick up the approximately 10,000 Internet radio stations that are available.
I WANT ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

| And I have NO idea where that came from, since someone on the radio is covering Traffic's 'Dear Mr. Fantasy' (oh, it's Big Sugar)...
I browsed through some of my subscriptions last night. Some haven't posted since 2007.
I'm not removing them, though, because they may come back!

| OK, I'm cranky but I'm back! I have missed this place, but have ignored that until tonight. I actually had to reset my password because I couldn't remember the old one!
Larry Carlton is on the stereo. Cats are doing whatever cats do out of sight of humans. I'm playing Wordscraper on Facebook. But I can't write there and rant and rave or pontificate or set down outrageous opinions like I do here.
And I joined up NINE YEARS AGO. Wow. That makes me feel almost as old as saying that I have a son in law now (or that I'm a father in law).
I am on the third job this year. Yeah, the recession is over (sarcasm implied). Am taking Microsoft tests to get a better job,. but hasn't happened yet. Michigan may be shedding jobs right and left, but was reminded all over again a few weeks ago what a beautiful state I live in when I went up north.
(PS...thanks, slocyn! You're at least partially correct..... )

| Trapped in Facebook. Occasional posts on LiveJournal. And confused by the changes here!

| Hm...guess if I showed up more often I'd keep on top of Xanga changes, eh?
Still working at an underpaid job. Still going to school for Microsoft certification. Daughter Kate still getting married in May 2009. Youngest daughter off to flying start at IU Purdue's Ft. Wayne campus.
Added a new cat (Scotia), a tortie.
That's about all!
